Edith P. Wright
Breast Cancer Foundation
Carrying love forward in the fight against breast cancer.
Our Core Values
Compassion
We lead with empathy, recognizing that every breast cancer journey is unique. Our programs and outreach efforts are designed to meet families where they are, offering emotional support, encouragement, and a caring community that walks alongside them every step of the way.
Education
Knowledge is power. By providing access to accurate, culturally relevant, and accessible information, we empower individuals and communities to take control of their health. From awareness campaigns to early detection workshops, we are committed to spreading life-saving education that can change outcomes.
Community
We believe in the power of togetherness. By bringing families, survivors, caregivers and advocates together, we create a supportive network rooted in strength and unity. Together, we amplify voices, share experiences, and drive change.
Legacy
Edith’s courage and love remain at the heart of everything we do. By honoring her memory, we dedicate ourselves to ensuring that her spirit continues to inspire hope and resilience in others. Her story fuels our mission to transform grief into impact, and to keep building a future where fewer families experience such loss.

Carrying Forth
Edith's Legacy
Building a better future for survivors and families
The Edith P. Wright Breast Cancer Foundation (EPW) is a Maryland-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to raising awareness, supporting families, and funding initiatives that make a difference in the fight against breast cancer.
Founded by the children of Mrs. Edith Purter Wright, who courageously battled breast cancer until her passing at the young age of 39, our foundation continues her legacy of love, strength, and resilience.

Our Approach
3 Prong Approach: Serve. Educate. Celebrate!
EPW offers specialized programs, events and direct support services, including grocery assistance, professional house cleaning, and emergency aid to families impacted by breast cancer. We facilitate breast health education by providing demonstrations of self-breast
examination, delivering community outreach programs, hosting guest speakers, and disseminating informational materials. Our foundation honors survivors, caregivers, families, and partners through uplifting programs and annual recognition events.
