2019 YEAR IN REVIEW

SERVE

  • With our continued 8-year partnership with Howard University Cancer Center (HUCC), we served continental breakfast, smiles and hugs to more than 400 family members during HUCC's Rosemary Williams MammoDay with our EPW B&B Program. We look forward to serving with HUCC in 2020 in support of this life changing program.

  • In May 2019, EPW was honored to bring its EPW Walk of Courage Survivor’s Lounge to Ebenezer AME Church’s God is a Wonder 5K Breast Cancer Awareness Walk. Survivors were honored with stations of relaxation featuring a harpist, food and the EPW Living Room Experience.

  •  2019’s EPW Pink Print Bus Tour - Stop #4 – The Hotel Hopper Edition - honored and celebrated 5 beautiful breast cancer survivors with an afternoon of pampering through empowering facilitators, 5-star food and service from the DMV’s top hotels, laughter and connection!

  • Our 7th annual EPW Oh What Fun Toy Run continued with our partner, Target, where we dashed thru the store chasing 4 incredible children who recently suffered a loss of their mom to cancer. We continued the day with our 7th annual chat & chew breakfast at IHOP!

EDUCATE

  • In September 2019, EPW provided breast cancer awareness information during the Ladies of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Iota Gamma Omega Chapter’s 5K breast cancer walk in support of its emphasis on breast cancer awareness.

  • In October 2019, EPW partnered again with the Gentlemen of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Beta Gamma Chapter in raising breast health awareness and honoring those lives who have been touched by breast cancer in their Trojan 5K breast cancer walk/run on the campus of Virginia State University.

  • In October 2019, EPW’s Taking it to the Top Program, provided breast education to the students at Bishop McNamara High School for the 4th year in a row during their annual October Mustangs Go Pink event
