EPW’s “B&B Program”

EPW provides Breakfast & Baskets in support of our community partner, Howard University Cancer Center (HUCC) in Washington, DC during its “MammoDay.”  Continental breakfast is provided for uninsured or under-insured women (and their families) receiving free mammograms. EPW’s volunteer group, Eydie’s Angels (EAs), also make and serves activity baskets for chemo infusion centers to assist patients in keeping a positive mind set while receiving treatments. These baskets include music, snacks, puzzle books, reading material, notes cards and more!

EPW’s Eydie’s Angel Service Program

EPW provides direct support such as grocery service, professional house cleaning service and emergency assistance to its clients being treated for breast cancer.

EPW’s Eydie’s Angel (EA) Volunteer Program

EPW’s volunteer group has been named after Mrs. Edith P. Wright and carries her legacy of caring and love forward.  EAs provide support to families being treated for breast cancer by accompanying them to appointments, assisting with in-home care and support, phone buddies, and errand running.

“EPW’s Oh What Fun ~ Toy Run

 aka Dashing thru the Sto”

Program for children who have lost a parent/guardian to breast cancer and are experiencing their first Christmas without their loved one. Children have an opportunity to grab toys in a fast-paced exciting adventure! Afterwards, the fellowship continues as the children and their families have breakfast together in a group setting affording families a relaxed environment where families can share experiences and memories of loved ones affected by breast cancer.

EPW’s Pink Print Party Bus Tour 

EPW’s Pink Print is a program celebrating breast cancer survivors in a day of fun and conversation. It also documents the survivor’s journey to conquering breast cancer through inspiration, motivation and community impact.

Program for teens designed to spark conversation, as well as educate teens on the topic of good breast health habits. Teens are able to discuss in a healthy environment any questions relative to breast health and are equipped with take home tools necessary in assisting in developing and continuing healthy living.

 

 

EPW’s “Straight Up-Taking it to the Top”

Eydie’s Day

A day of service honoring the life of Mrs. Edith P. Wright where EPW’s EAs visit and volunteer in local hospitals and cancer centers.

The Edith P. Wright Breast Cancer Foundation launched the "Walk of Courage," Friday, October 5, 2007, during  "A Concert of Love" honoring breast cancer survivors at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC.  The "Walk of Courage" is an elegant traveling memorial celebrating the strength and courage of breast cancer survivors.

 

The "Walk of Courage" carpet design and production is a collaboration between Edith P. Wright Breast Cancer Foundation  and Mastercraft Carpet Makers (Ojai, CA). 

 

Launched in 1991, Mastercraft Carpet Makers was founded with a passionate desire to produce unique and creativesculptured carpets and rugs. The award winning rug design team at Mastercraft Carpet Makers has been commissioned to create many high profile rugs and has emerged as one of the top tier rug fabrication facilities based in the US.
